Kate Middleton has dismissed rumors of wearing a wig after her recent public appearances sparked online speculation. The Princess, who overcame cancer in 2025, has begun returning to royal events.

In August, social media users pointed to what looked like unusually bright, caramel-toned hair. But according to reports from Daily Mail, her look came from something simple — sunlight.
Kate attended the Royal Variety Performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall, where British actress Su Pollard complimented her refreshed appearance after her recovery. Pollard noted how different her hair looked. Kate responded with a brief explanation.
“My hair used to be brown, but it went lighter in the sunshine,” she said.
The 43-year-old royal first appeared with this brighter look after her summer holiday, spent on a superyacht while sailing around the Greek islands.
Speaking about her sun-kissed shade, Seung Ki Baek, Creative Colour Expert at RUSH HAIR, called her new tone “a breath of fresh air.” He said the shift toward honey-blonde instantly brightened her complexion and added more depth to her naturally darker base.
Baek explained that sun alone rarely creates such a change for people with darker hair. Lightening happens slowly and usually appears less dramatic. In Kate’s case, he believes her natural base was lifted and blended with highlights to add a warm glow.
He added that these warmer, brighter tones flatter her cool undertones and make her green eyes stand out.
Kate’s simple explanation — sunlight, not a wig — puts an end to weeks of speculation surrounding her evolving look.
