Pierce Brosnan has reunited with his stepson Christopher after nearly two decades without contact. Daily Mail reported that the longtime rift began in 2005 when the former James Bond star distanced himself from Christopher due to his long struggle with drug addiction.

A source told The Mirror that Brosnan recently met Christopher in a Los Angeles restaurant while also joined by his son Dylan. “They both looked happy and relaxed,” the source said. “Their problems well documented, but it looks like they finally moved past them. It was good seeing them together again.”

Brosnan previously spoke about the difficult decision during a 2005 interview with Playboy. When he said Christopher’s drug issues pushed him to step away. During that conversation, Brosnan said his son “tested everyone in this family” and admitted it was painful to cut ties. “Get busy living, or get busy dying,” Brosnan said at the time, adding he continued to pray for him.

Christopher battled cocaine and heroin addiction for years. He once fell into a coma due to an overdose. He also faced legal issues, including a fine for driving under the influence in 1996 and multiple minor run-ins with law enforcement after recovering.

Christopher and his sister Charlotte adopted by Brosnan after the death of their mother, actress Cassandra Harris, in the mid-1980s. Christopher later worked as an assistant director on several James Bond projects.

Brosnan, now 72, had not been seen publicly with Christopher for many years until their recent reunion dinner inside the well-known restaurant Dorian.

Witnesses said Brosnan looked happy as he left the venue. Calling the moment an important emotional step for the actor after making the hard choice years ago to step back from his son because of his addiction.
